Yes, as I pointed out in my other post, my evaluation of VMware 
Workstation demonstrated that it introduced substantial amounts of paging 
activity which brought my system to its knees.  Someone told me it was 
possible to switch this off, but only after my evaluation period had 
finished. :-(
