Hi,
Thanks Steven, Henry and VAXman.
I will supply more information. The vms073lp.zip file is from the new
hobby kits.
It contains the following files from the HP hobby ftp site:
BASIC_Compiler_39.zip Datatrieve_72a2.zip
COBOL_Compiler_57.zip F77_Compiler_66.zip
CXX_Compiler_56c.zip
C_Compiler_64.zip Pascal_Compiler_58.zip
DCPS_27.zip VAXVMS 073 OS ISO.zip
DEC-VAXVMS-DECNET_OSI-V0703--1.PCSI-ZIP VAXVMS073.ZIP
DEC-VAXVMS-DWMOTIF-V0102-6-1.PCSI-ZIP VMS073LP.ZIP
DEC-VAXVMS-TCPIP-V0501-15-1.PCSI-ZIP unzip.exe
DECSET_122a.zip
The corruption I got when unzip wiht "-X" gone without reason, although I
did try to re-ftp the file into the system a few times. It failed on two
different machines. After I got reply from the group, my last attempt to
ftp the file into the system unzip without problem.
unzip "-X" VMS073LP.ZIP gave:
Archive: DUA1:[ROOT]VMS073LP.ZIP;2
This is the OpenVMS COMMON layered products CD-ROM.
This is the THIRD disk of the OpenVMS Alpha kit, and
this is the SECOND disk of the OpenVMS VAX kit.
This kit specifically contains a zip of a BACKUP/IMAGE of the
installation CD-ROM medium. To (correctly) decompress, use a
version of unzip that preserves the OpenVMS file attributes, or
use a tool that will restore the BACKUP saveset attributes.
To install this kit, unzip it, BACKUP/IMAGE to restore it to a
scratch disk, then install or upgrade OpenVMS using the standard
procedures for CD-ROM distribution kits...

It looks strange to me as my host system has quite a lots of space:
I am running it under Slackware64 13.37, my home directory is in the same
partition as root so I still have 100G of space.
