No, Eric, it is for some ISVs who have expressed an interest in these tools. I am providing a mechanism of getting information from the community. Does there exist an "unknown" port of any of these and what is its state? What interest is there in them and also are there any resources interested in helping if this has not been done.

My current efforts to develop the Source Forge VMS-Ports project with John Malmberg and others is where my money lies. I want to see the OpenVMS Community come together and work to support open source code that has been ported and to work with the mainline developers to get VMS ports included in these mainlines. I also want to work to see VMS build environments made available as part of this process to support this on-going effort. I would hope that this sort of effort and involvement would then help reduce the orphan software problem which is starting to creep into the VMS Community and (hopefully) help us attract some new blood to the Community.

We welcome any and all involvement and support.

Thanks!

Bill.
