It seems that there are large blocks of binary zero, at various
spots in the file. ZIP or gzip will easily compress those out.
Normally, I find compressing such files not so useful. In some
cases, it is a few percent smaller, but requires twice the disk
space to restore.

Or generate one closer to the right size.
