No. SMTP Services is perfectly capable of delivering mail to the world
by itself. There is no need for an alternate gateway.
However, if your ISP blocks outgoing port 25, then the SMTP server is
unable to deliver mail outside of your LAN and you will have to define
an alternate gateway pointing to your ISP's official SMTP server who
will act as a relay.
