[Info-vax] Moving away from OpenVMS

There are two companies worth talking to. Sector7 and Transoft.  At the very least a conversation with both will sharpen your own thinking about what strategy can be good or what may not work. 

You will need to think about whether you are looking at a port (recompile and go) or rearchitecting such that you are no longer in COBOL. Other issues to think about would include whether the two systems (vms and new) need to peacefully coexist or are you looking at a flag day type cutover. And of course the answers to those questions have to be compatible with your budget and internal expectations.
