Hmm.  I came across an IBM'er circa 1993 who was proud of TSO's 
capabilities.  He thought it was cutting edge technology.  That might 
make you smile but for mainframe shops who were still stuck doing 
everything in batch, it probably was, and he was certainly making a very 
good living out of it.
