You will need to reboot the systems that have UCBs configured for the 'old' 
device name.  Logically we know that it is the same disk but with the device 
changes due to the allocation class, progrmatically it is a different disk. 
I've always wanted a tool that could delete a disk UCB(s) but have never 
found one nor had time to develop one, it would have come in very handy over 
the years especially for cases like this.
