Is there still a large market for standalone SCSI disks ? Wouldn't the
vast majority of SCSI drive be found installed in proprietary caddies
that go into disk arrays with the disk array manufacturer purchasing
those disks and ensuring the SCSI interface is the one that is
compatible with the disk array ?

When SCSI started to adopt different interfaces, it stopped being a
standard.
