While I think the Oracle decision accelerated the decline, the core
reason is likely the lackluster performance of IA64 and HP's
announcements that it would not port those systems after IA64.

New customers are not attracted by an old chip with 2007 performance.
And old customers would be waiting for Poulson.

This is why I am curious what will happen to BCS once Poulson comes out
wherher there will be any pent up demand for those servers or whether
sales will continue to droop as predicted by HP (which would indicate
the situation is worse than I thought).
