For older Macs, there is gatorbox and fastpath.

About 15 years ago I bought a GatorStar for an elementary
school networking project. It cost about $20 including shipping.
(Maybe $2 for it, and $18 for shipping. They were already old
technology for anything past an elementary school.)

At least for a little while it allowed older Macs, even Mac plus,
to connect to printers. I think I once tried Netscape 2.x on
an SE30, but the window was bigger than the screen, and there was
no way to resize it. (The resize box was off the screen.)
