Not quite correct. It checked for a "blessed" folder containing the file
called "System" (and then probably checks that "System" has got the
right attibutes).
On foreign language systems, it isn't "System Folder", it could be
"Dossier Système".
Basically, the "blessed folder" is whatever folder you last copied a
valid System file into.
So when it boots, it looks at the disk strcuture for the one folder that
has been "blessed", and then in it, it looks for "System" (which is
called that in foreign languages).
You could create a folder called "Chocolate" and copy all the files from
the system folder to it. Becase "Chocolate" would be the last folder to
which a System file was copied, it would become the blessed folder and
you would boot from it.
