I would not trust a Mac Mini for 7/24 operation.  And my goal with the
Xserve is to put as many applications into one unit as possible, which
goes against the industry flow of having one app per server.

And a Mac Mini would require external disk array which has its own fans
and own power consumption as well. Not sure that it comes out ahead.


And yes, I am well aware of its power consumption. I bought a little
gizmo to measure watts and can see it go up and down as CPU activity
changes.
