   In Japan, that happens in major cities.

   When my father in-law showed up at his late sister in-law's house
   to begin the process of selling it, the police were summoned in
   minutes by neighbors who knew he was a stranger.

   This in a high density section of Osaka.

   When my wife and I showed up a few weeks later, my father in law made 
   a point of walking around the neighborhood with us; since the
   neighbors had become accostumed to his presence, they could see that 
   we belonged.
