I came across a comment some time ago to the effect that when discussing
details of Fortran compiler implementations for other platforms, it was
common to say "Let's see what DEC Fortran does here".
IIRC that was Richard Maine, but Google Groups is so incredibly slow at
the moment that I gave up my quest to find it :-(
