I was under the impression that, at least wrt
scientific/engineering uses, Cray compiler
has been ahead of the standard for at least
the last 20 years. Right now Cray have many
features which are likely to appear in the
next standard (coarray reductions).
Anyway, back to my original post: I'm happily
running my fortran 2008 codes on linux/x86-64
with GCC, Intel and Cray compilers and on
FreeBSD/ia64 with GCC. I try to test the
portability as much as possible, so having access
to a 2008 compliant (at least as far as coarrays)
compiler on VMS would be great.
