The fact that BCS,s demise is mentioned in about every quarterly
financial analyst teleconference means that it is something on the CEO's
radar.

Remember that they are trying to build a new enterprise business as they
dump BCS. So this is something they are discussing.

HP is carefully managing the downfall of BCS, leaking news that VMS was
dead (but not making a formal announcement), announcing that NSK was
being moved to 8086 are good examples of HP executing a plan. Next will
be the news on HP-UX (likely similar to that of VMS) and once that is
done, HP can finally make the announcement everyone has known for years:
Itanium is dead.

And while the murder of Alpha was deemed too brutal/sudden, I think the
Itanium death was stretched over WAY too much time to a point where it
makes HP lose any credibility due to all the lies and stretched trutch
they have made over the years when they knew full well IA64 was dead.
