Interesting. Thanks. Seems licensing has changed yet again? Used to
be that you had to acquire the license when you acquired the hardware,
and from a vendor that was an HP reseller; you simply couldn't get a
license a la carte. The only other option available was the HP license
transfer mechanism, which had a one-time fee to move over all the
licenses that the system you've just purchased was originally acquired
with.
Though it's referenced in the text you've posted, that Itanium license
is a per-core license. You'll need four of those licenses for an
rx2660-class box with two dual-core processors, if you want to use all
four cores.
