"A chaque jour suffit sa peine".

2 things I agree with :
- now the VMS engeniering is not able to do the port
- it is impossible to act like Linux communities, because we are very
few compared to them.

But I don't say we can port today.

Today we have to do some things to SURVIVE, like formalizing VMS do
works upon i4, like organizing our community to survive for the 15 next
years (hp-3000 EOL was 2003 and there are HP-3000 today, and HP-3000 is
very little compared to VMS ; we have official support until 2025...).

As said John hereby, we big issue is going out, yes, but where ? For
example, in 2025 will HP be still here ? Will NSK have became a real
realm ? We don't know.

Until these large futures, it is worth it saying we CAN do a port. For
the moment, I agree, nobody knows who.

My point : an ORDERLY retreat is the task of the day. Noone can say who
will win the war.
