I guess they spend quite some effort to squeeze
performance out of the underlying hardware/OS combo,
and they have to retain a zoo of different platforms for
developing and testing. If they can get rid of some of

It's easier to blackmail VMS users, they can go nowhere else.
HP-UX users might still migrate to some x86 or Sparc Larrybox.

This is just another "pet belief", unless somebody unleashes
some secret mail exchange ...
