I quickly learned that when I was in The Netherlands.  Calling the 
country Holland wasn't popular either.  I have a vague recollection that 
either Holland or Dutch referred to a particular part of the country, so 
for folks from outside that area it was like referring to a Scot as 
English or a Canadian as American.
