Well, hm, I just gave opinion to my views... :-)

I'm not sure what a "NAS client" is. I use my office ReadyNAS
to store VMS backups "off-system" by FTP. I could use my home
ReadyNAS also for "off-site" backup storage.

Maybe Samba can mount a share on the ReadyNAS as a device on VMS?
I'm not sure and has not tested it...
