Remembering from many years ago, quoting works differently in
batch files than interactively.

You don't mention quoting, but as I remember it DCL normally
converts the whole command line to upper case pretty early
if it isn't quoted.

Well, the one I am remembering from about 25 years ago required
triple " for batch files, where only single " were needed on the
command line. 

Maybe someone else can explain it better, though.
