What management should want is to get the job done. If the current
system is getting the job done, then what else matters?

Now, what does that mean? I've read this drivel so many times. It
means nothing. If anything, it should be easier, not harder, to convert
in the future. "Forced"??? Is something going to stop working on any
specific date? I think not.

"Troll" comes to mind when I read such. Are you just another troll?

Oh, yes, I can measure it. If you do something that is not needed to be
done, then anything you spend is easily measured wasted money and effort.

Indeed it might. That would be part of the cost vs benefit analysis.
It also "might" offer LESS functionally. That would also be a good
thing to have defined.
