Um, that's the specs for current top-end Mac Mini box and it's a box 
I've worked with, which means your home-built 64 GB Core i7 box offers 
some serious hardware, particularly given how fast that dinky Mac Mini 
is...

AutoDesk.  Yep.  Don't use it.  Haven't had requirements past the 
low-end stuff.

While your fondness for the zx2000 is known, your reference to the 
zx2000 was following a "OpenVMS has no new entry-level servers 
available..." comment.

I did recently notice a comment around a lack of entry-level or low-end 
gear, but not quite sure where...  Ah, well.  The McKinley-class zx2000 
boxes I've dealt with have generally been around US$200 to US$300 or 
so, but the price depends on the configuration and the urgency and the 
desirability.  That box and its relatives are the most affordable.
