My usual solution is to open the power supply and solder another
one in. Often there are holes there for one, but most power supplies
are now cheap enough that they can't afford the extra connectors.

Try to find one with larger, maybe 18 gauge wire. 

Soldering directly reduces the lead inductance and resistance,
which is better for the disk.
