Incorrect. OpenVMS code supporting RADs can also help improve 
performance on Itanium systems. Key word to look for in the 
documentation is Resource Affinity Domains, or RADs.

Even EV7-based systems had NUMA characteristics to some extent, but the 
difference between local and remote memory access times was so much less 
than for Wildfires that very few customers turned on the RAD features in 
OpenVMS on machines in the GS-1280 family.
