Bill, I think you are confusing Moffett Field with the NASA Ames Research Center located right next door to it. The airfield has has been used by many people and companies over the years as well as the Federal government. I do not see anything in the discussion and announcements that would suggest they are shutting down the Research Center - where the computers and wind tunnels are located.
The agreement is for the airfield and its maintenance and operation not the maintenance and operation of the research facilities next door.
