Same network switch configurations?

Assuming that the discs are all MSCP served between nodes, that uses SCS 
(non-routable layer 2). Other network protocols are affected too (TCPIP, 
probably others).

So the interconnect path has to be worth checking. My first guess would be 
speed / duplex settings on the switch ports, or maybe the Alphas, althoug 
the settings should be stored in NVRAM (unless there's a dead Dallas chip or 
equivalent).

How many NICs per Alpha ? It's worth having multiple NICs and splitting 
protocols across adapters, especially with heavily used MSCP devices.
