All iOS development is cross-platform.  Most embedded platforms are 
cross-platform.  VAX ELN was cross-platform, as well.

I really don't need to be directly connected to the host, if the 
necessary tools and services are present and are sufficiently capable 
of basic tasks including loading, debugging, logging, and dumping.
