Getting off topic here ....
While I cannot remember some of the issues at this time, I do remember
some EU policies that I personally felt made some of the bleeding heart
liberals in the US appear as staunch conservatives.
What price freedom?
I do believe that Ben Franklin uttered something like "those who will
trade freedom for security deserve neither freedom nor security". Might
have it a bit wrong, but, the concept is valid.
Sometimes the ends do not justify the means.
Now I just wish I could remember the issues, but what remains in my mind
is stomping on some to implement some rather questionable goals.
Really stupid stuff. Sort of like the objections to the people who
developed the nail polish that would signal the presence of a "date
rape" drug in a drink, because "girls should not need such protection".
