The maximum memory in the 11/780 was 4MB in the main cabinet, with an 
additional 4MB if an expansion cabinet was added.

The memory modules were 256KB each, so 512MB would have required 2048 
full-sized modules. The price was around $5-6K/MB, IIRC.
