I've got a routine, given a filename, it will return file size, creation date, 
and revision date.  Just for kicks I wrote a crude wrapper for it which produces 
a listing of selected files by creation date.

Way too much code to just post here.  If you're interested, a copy is available 
to anyone who wants it.
