Galaxy used the SRM console for coordination (its virtual machine
"assists", though that was largely about being presented with a
particular and coordinated subset of the machine by the console, and
about the ability to push CPUs around, or allocate memory from a pool),
and the VMS instances then cooperated. Using VT-x / VT-d / VT-c would
entail running VMS virtualized, with a bespoke virtual machine engine
underneath. Probably more than adapted and closer to an overhaul, but
yes. Given that there's a decent likelihood that VSI will want to run
VMS virtualized just to avoid dealing with actual hardware for at least
the initial porting work, some of the necessary work here will likely
already be scheduled. SMOP, if VSI decides to head in that direction.
