But really, what is the demand for unloading drivers?

Someone developing drivers would benefit greatly from such.

Someone running a production system would most likely never be doing that.

If the capability can be added, it would be a good thing.  In addition 
to production systems, there still exists that thing called development. 
  Why not take care of everybody?
