OK, I see.
On the other hand, disk size is limited to 2TB at the moment, just as
much as in my DVB-C HDD recorder with a rather ancient version of Linux,
so that's a problem too.
I wouldn't be surprised if VSI decides to use GPT, but wants to register
all VMS partition types at once, including the new one(s).
