Would the currently-entirely-hypothetical omission of Rdb hurt? Most
definitely.
But if I've got a choice of porting off of OpenVMS to another operating
system and also porting off of Rdb to another database as part of the
same project, or just porting databases, I would most definitely
consider staying on OpenVMS and porting the data from Rdb to another
local database. Some research and estimates of the effort involved
would be entailed, as well as discussions around risk aversion and
costs, obviously.
