Two things I noticed about this job posting (link and copy below):
One, it's for the new HP Enterprise company and it's in Houston so it should probably be called COMPAQ.
And two:
"Within the structure of HP Servers, four Server Business Segments have been established to focus and align around key technologies, customer segments and market trends:
*Enterprise Global Business Segment - focus on the HP-UX and OpenVMS operating environments.
*Rack and Tower Global Business Segment - includes mainstream rack and tower HP ProLiant platforms, options portfolio and the server software business with a primary focus on traditional enterprise and SMB products and solutions.
*Density-Optimized/Service Provider Global Business Segment - includes ProLiant SL line and Service Provider, performance-optimized data centers (PODS) and hyper-dense solutions and the High Performance Computing business.
*Moonshot Global Business Segment--includes cartridge-based, high-density micro servers optimized for specific workloads."
It's nice that OpenVMS is listed in the new company, but HP-UX is not being ported off of Integrity and its users are encouraged to move to Red Hat Linux (REL).
So why not list REL as an Enterprise Global Business Segment OS?
To be sure, HP doesn't currently own Red Hat, so maybe these are Enterprise products they own.
For all of you getting in line to apply, no pushing...
Sean
