I'm not too sure how this would be accepted, but, if I was in this 
situation, I'd go to IBM and ask for some help.

1) With the advent of VSI, perhaps consider continuing to support the 
product on VMS.

2) Ask for sources so that you can support yourself after 2016.  You 
might mention that support fees until that date are contingent upon you 
getting the capability of supporting yourself.

I've got to wonder what type of commitments IBM made when initially 
selling the product and support?  Lawyers could always argue that they 
should offer you self support in the event they (IBM) stop offering it.

I'd also wonder how many VMS users have this problem.  Perhaps a unified 
approach to IBM would be helpful.  A unified self support system should 
also keep costs down.
