I actually save this message in my inbox on the BOINC forum because this question comes up so often. This was the response in 2012

=====
Hello Roland,

I am sorry, there is still no BOINC client for VMS. I have not enought VMS knowledges to port the BOINC client and some science applications to VMS. The persons which asked for the BOINC client for VMS in the past had no interest to port it to VMS.
Are you interested to port the BOINC client to VMS? - If yes, I can assist and help you in the porting.

Regards

Lars

The bottom line is, even if all of the tools were ported to VMS it wouldn't matter. The vast majority of people developing OpenSource projects wouldn't know a real OS if it bit their backside.
