The DVD distro traditionally uses El Torito format if it's been
established using existing practices. Not the GPT format that is used
for disks.

Dump out the boot structures on the disk image using LD and on the
restored disk, as a starting point. Here I have DCL$PATH defined and
it includes SYS$SYSTEM, so you might need to adjust the following
command to your environment:

$ sys$setboot -s -f sys$sysdevice:

This command is non-destructive. The -s is show, the -f is the target
device (that started out as file, long story) and you should get
details of the boot disk. Post the output.

Please also post which UPDATE has been installed, if any. UPDATE V5.0
was on the hobbyist distro, IIRC.

Please also post whether any existing boot aliases were removed and
re-added. This step is often necessary when there are existing boot
aliases configured at EFI.
