Unfortunately, things have now moved on. :-)

These days, it's not enough to know the latest languages; for many
job openings, you now have to know the latest frameworks written in
those languages and to have {x} amount of experience in those
frameworks as well.

And BTW, those frameworks are no magic bullet; you still get silly
bugs in them. Here's one I found in the Firefox SDK when I decided
to update my target device and the machine I use for Firefox
development to the latest Firefox version (now Firefox Android
finally has the same download manager as the current desktop Firefox
versions):

Someone appears to have changed the SDK and outright broken some
basic SDK functionality for the Android version of Firefox.
