Not just for modern stuff.  Look at ads for things like COBOL.
Most require extensive IBM experience and skill with JCL, CICS
and DB2 as well.  Or UNISYS COBOL and DMSII.

You mean like PHP where every new version breaks the old one.  Or
Python where the move from Version 2 changed even the basic syntax
of a bunch of things rendering previous programs unusable without
a total rewrite.
