Philip,

do you perform a lot of file management especially deletions from a node
that has earlier version ?

In particular, do you do such management from a VAX which just barely
understand ODS-5 on an ODS-5 disk ?


When confronted with a problem which others's don't have, you need to
see if your own usage patterns are different (using some functionality
others don't use).

In my experience, pagefiles were the big ones. You could create a new
pagefile, install it, and delete the old one, but you needed to reboot
for the file to truly be closed and its space freed.

If you MOUNT/NOREBUILD, then it is normal that you would accumulate such
cruft until you manually ANA/DISK/REPAIR.
