Um, you did read all the slides in that presentation about VCI and the
necessity for creating VCI 2.x? And previous discussions here, in the
VMS Technical Journal, and elsewhere about VCI, spinlocks, the packet
engine, etc.?

I'm assuming that what's described in the slides as a new LAN driver and
a new VCI are what is referred to in the roadmap as a new TCP/IP stack.
In other words, the management interface and the CRTL consumers of VCI
may change little or not at all. While there are some infelicities in
those places, they can likely be forgiven for another version or two if
they can really get from 12% to 90% of line rate.
