Same thing, only different.

:-)

It's a bit easier to mount/change/dism a container file.

But yes, many of the things talked about today are simply best practices 
and/or slight modifications from 30+ years ago. New names, New Hype, 
same old stuff -

SOA --> NAS (remember DEC Network Application Services?)

Private cloud--> Shared Services --> Adaptive Enterprise --> Converged 
Infrastructure --> IT Utility

Public Cloud --> selective IT Outsourcing --> Timesharing (remember 
CompuServe?
