If Kittson is released after VMS is available on the 8086, will anyone
really want to upgtade from Tukwila/Poulson to Kittson ?
I am guessing VSI will still have its contract to produce VMS for
Kittson, and hopefully this will just mean qualification tests and no
need to recompile anything.
By the time VMS is on the 8086, x86 servers will have performance that
will be well ahead of chips meant to have been released 5-6 years earlier.
