I apologize.  I checked with my DG hardware expert and he said that the 
Eclipse was announced in 1974 along with this new fangled thing called 
semiconductor memory.

However, most customers didn't trust the semiconductor memory, so many 
Eclipses were configured with core memory.  The semi memory wasn't 
really accepted until about 1978 or so.

I didn't get involved with DG systems until around 1979-1980, so I 
missed this.  All the systems I used had semi memory.
