I doubt the SET TERM/INQ does that, as it sets a terminal type as VMS 
understands them, and that will not have any encoded terminal width in 
the name. The terminal type value in VMS is not a string, but a coded 
value (see what SHOW TERMINAL says). Maybe you have some logical name, 
or some other thing that is playing with you here as well?
