True enough, but LAT can give you an SS$_HANGUP notification if
something happens to the connection. With the reverse Telnet, you have
to detect a command timeout. And on outgoing VMS connections, (Back in
the UCX 4.x days) I had to delete and recreate the TNA device after a
disconnection.
So if LAT is available, it does have some advantages over TCP/IP.
